The SDA's Contractor Training Program is designed to provide small, minority, women and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises with valuable instruction in business basics, management practices, and knowledge on how to do business with the SDA and other State agencies. Sessions for this nine-week program will be held virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will offer both instruction and networking opportunities.
"The SDA is committed to providing small, minority, women and disabled veteran-owned businesses with the tools and insight they need to strengthen their business and pursue an expanded client base," said Manuel Da Silva, SDA Chief Executive Officer. "It is our hope that the training program will provide small businesses with insight into SDA’s program and processes that will enable more firms to participate on various projects and work throughout the State. Small businesses are vital to New Jersey's economy and we are proud to work with them to help grow their business."
Participants will benefit from a business instruction curriculum in a variety of subjects, such as: marketing construction services, business planning 101, accounting for construction services, budgeting and estimating, procurement, construction project management, construction contract law, safety and how to find opportunities.
